I used to be an avid podcast listener, but my time is very restrictive as of late. I think my favorite podcast to listen to was Girls Gotta Eat, because it resonated with me the most. The major I am currently working on is social and behavioral science so learning how people work is very interesting to me. Rayna and Ashley, the hostesses, deep dived into relationship issues, among other things, and I learned a lot from the way they and their guests presented those issues. I have year of therapy under my belt, but being able to relate to their issues made me feel validated – dating is messy and this helped me realize that!
I once started a podcast with a very good friend, and we even went live! We created a whole platform and even considered rolling out merchandise. This whole idea tanked when we grew apart – lets just say that business and pleasure can rarely intermingle. If I started a podcast today, I think I would utilize my ability to travel as a means of inspiration. My audience would be anyone that cares to listen but especially those that love to travel. My layover in different cities vary anywhere from 10 to 72 hrs before I had to head back home or another destination. My aim would be for an hour episode weekly. I would document the process from the moment I leave the airport – as crew my entrance into a country may be different than it would for a regular passenger – so I would avoid talking about that. Using YouTube would be a great asset but I would include a weekly Instagram post as well with imagery to support my adventure – an album to create cohesion and hopefully make the audience feel a bit more included.
This was a bit hard to do but here is my intro episode:
I used Audacity to record my podcast, and then utilize Headliner to create a video with transcript from it. ChatCPT helped create an outline for the episode and I found this very helpful. I attempted to use a transcript I wrote, but you may be able to tell by how pronounced my accent is throughout that I was very nervous reading it. I wanted to maintain the integrity of the experience by keeping the recording to just my voice. I do believe from having recorded a podcast in the past that I can speak more fluently and calmer when I do not have a transcript. Overall this was very fun and it was my first time using chatGPT – very useful too.
