This position will provide a unique opportunity to serve as an interface between domestic and international global health stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>The Intern candidate should possess excellent written and oral communications skills in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) and have experience in cross-cultural organizations. Experience working on relevant global health issues such as childhood immunization or infectious diseases, or knowledge of China\u2019s international health and development policies, are considered a plus. The Intern will be based in Beijing and report to GHS\u2019 senior staff in China.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0Provides logistical and administrative support to the GHS Beijing to implement projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Supports a team of senior staff in China and New York on GHS client deliverables.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Works closely with project manager to assist in the implementation of research, communications and advocacy projects, including day-to-day project coordination and correspondence with project partners.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Drafts press releases, fact sheets, Q&amp;A documents, media analyses and advocacy materials.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Conducts internet and policy research on stakeholders and media for clients and projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Updates and maintains media and projects contacts.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Helps organize and plan events, including press conferences and educational forums<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Individual should be well-organized and able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Individual should be a self-starter who is intelligent, reliable and has a good sense of humor. In addition, the intern should meet the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Working toward or completed a Master\u2019s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, public health, international relations, public policy, or a related field<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0Skilled researcher, writer and editor; able to turn around documents rapidly<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Ability to work in fast-paced, demanding environment<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Work well as both a team member and independently<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Flexible, able to multitask<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Open-minded, willing to continue learning<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Positive, energetic attitude; enthusiastic<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Rigorous thinker<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Good political skills\/sound judgment<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Proficiency using Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and social media platforms such as Weibo and Kaixin; Photoshop or other image processing software is a plus<\/p>\n<p><strong>Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Time requirement:\u00a0Full time or Part time. 2 or 3 days a week<\/p>\n<p>Duration:\u00a0Three months, with an opportunity for extension<\/p>\n<p>Compensation:\u00a0Varies with experience<\/p>\n<p>Start Date:\u00a0\u00a0Immediate<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send all applications to\u00a0jobschina (at) globalhealthstrategies.com .
