Proposals can include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experimental or quasi-experimental studies<\/li>\n<li>Secondary analyses of existing datasets<\/li>\n<li>Evaluations of planned interventions or natural experiments<\/li>\n<li>Retrospective analyses of apparent policy change successes, especially in settings where body mass index data is available<\/li>\n<li>Financial, economic, or cost-effectiveness studies<\/li>\n<li>Health impact assessments or statistical modeling studies<\/li>\n<li>Policy and legal analyses to identify or evaluate promising interventions<\/li>\n<li>Quantitative meta-analyses of the relationships between food environments and eating behaviors or weight outcomes<\/li>\n<li>Measurement studies to develop, test and validate methods and tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The program consists of Round 8 grants and RWJF New Connections grants. Round 8 grants represent the majority of the foundation&#8217;s investment in the program. Awards cannot exceed $170,000 and have a maximum period of 18 months. New Connections grants are designed to support policy relevant research of early-career investigators from historically disadvantaged and underrepresented communities. They do not exceed $100,000 and range from 12 to 18 months. Concept papers are due February 13, April 24 and July 10, 2013.
