She has written and published extensively on the theory and practice of a restorative approach to social and political institutions in both transitional contexts and established democracies. She also serves as an expert advisor to the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission in their development of a restorative approach to human rights. She worked with the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 1997. She served as an expert witness on restorative justice for the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry in 2002 and assisted with the formulation of a national restorative justice policy for Jamaica as a senior consultant with the United Nations Development Programme. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Associate Professor, Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University.
