Connell<br \/>\n<\/a>\u201cRenaissance Republicanism at Work:\u00a0 Digitizing the Deliberations of the Florentine Councils, 1350-1530.\u201d\u00a0\u2013 This is part of a project, in collaboration with colleagues in the SHU Libraries, the U of Chicago, and the Archivio di Stato of Florence, to digitize and make available on the Internet the minutes of the meetings that were called in Florence to discuss important business over a period of 180 years.\u00a0 The years covered coincided with the development of the Renaissance in Florence.\u00a0 I\u2019ll be describing the nature of the minutes, how we are proceeding with the digitization.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.edu\/profiles\/marthacarpentier.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Martha C. Carpentier<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.edu\/profiles\/marybalkun.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mary M. Balkun<br \/>\n<\/a>\u201cCreating a Study-Abroad Student Blog\u201d \u2013 This presentation will show how a blog can be used by students to capture the experience of a study abroad trip, in this case a spring break trip to Ireland as part of an English\/Core III course. Incorporating text and images, the blog became a way for student to memorialize and reflect on their journey.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.edu\/profiles\/petrachu.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Petra T. Chu<br \/>\n<\/a>\u201cDigital Humanities: Scholarship and Publishing\u201d \u2013 This presentation is focused on digital scholarship and its publication. It is based on my work as founding\/managing editor of <em>Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide<\/em> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.19thc-artworldwide.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.19thc-artworldwide.org<\/a>) and our Mellon-funded Digital Humanities and Art History series.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.edu\/profiles\/karengevirtz.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karen B. Gevirtz<br \/>\n<\/a>\u201cUndergraduate Research, Dead People, and the Virtual Museum\u201d \u2013 This presentation describes a research project offered to students in ENGL3382 \/ WMST3382 \/ CORE3382: 17<sup>th<\/sup> and 18<sup>th<\/sup> Century Catholic British Women Writers as an alternative to the standard 7-10 page research paper required in English electives. Students select a topic pertaining to the course, perform independent research about it, and create a \u201croom\u201d presenting their research as if it is an exhibit in a museum. The \u201cvirtual museum\u201d is a blog where students are graded using a rubric. The blog and rubric were developed in collaboration with the Teaching, Learning &amp; Technology Center.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/library.shu.edu\/prf.php?account_id=44093\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amanda E. Mita<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.edu\/profiles\/veronicaarmour.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Veronica L. Armour<br \/>\n<\/a>\u201cDeveloping a Digital Humanities Project: An Interactive Timeline\u201d \u2013 In our presentation, we will discuss how a Digital Humanities project is developed from scratch.\u00a0 We will go through the process from the beginning \u2013an archive collection in need of processing \u2013 and walk through key points in the project\u2019s development from colleagues interested in collaborating, conceptualizing what to do with the collection (digitizing and beyond), using TLT Center resources, to seeking funding for the project.\u00a0 The presentation will use the DH Tool, ViewShare (<a href=\"http:\/\/viewshare.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/viewshare.org\/<\/a>), to create an Interactive Timeline to tell our story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Teaching, Learning &amp; Technology Roundtable (TLTR)\u00a0Faculty Development &amp; Best Practices Committee and The Digital Humanities Committee Present Digital Humanities at Seton Hall University Wednesday, October 28 1 \u2013 3 p.m. Walsh Library \u2013 ITV Room Light refreshments will be served.
