Citizenship in the Digital Age: A Symposium
Digital access and literacy are issues of paramount importance in our current political moment. Given the increasingly digital nature of our daily lives, this is an especially crucial time for a discussion about how we engage with the digital world, especially as citizens, and how we can get others to do so. On May 6, local experts engaged in a wide-ranging conversation about this important contemporary question: What does it mean to be an engaged and informed citizen in the digital age?
Panelists includes:
Village President (Mayor) Sheena Collum, graduate of Seton Hall University as well as Executive Director for American Planning Association of NJ
Dr. Matt Hale, Associate Professor and MPA Program Chair for the Department of
Political Science and Public Affairs at Seton Hall University
Artist Jeremiah Teipen, who explores the concepts of citizens of the web and is interested in how people assume new identities online
Melissa Kopecky, the South Orange Public Library Director
