A Catholic Breathing with Two Lungs

Thursday, March 30, at 2:30 p.m. in Bethany Hall A.

“Blessed Miriam Teresa Demjanovich – A Catholic Breathing with Two Lungs” will explore some of the hidden aspects of the life of this blessed Eastern Catholic woman.

Blessed Miriam Teresa Demjanovich was born in Bayonne, celebrating her baptism, Holy Communion, and confirmation at Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Ruthenian Catholic Church. She attended Saint Elizabeth University and graduated there before entering the Convent, professing solemnly in the oldest order of Roman Catholic nuns in the U.S. She serves as an example of living the Catholic faith simultaneously breathing with both lungs as taught by Saint John Paul II in his encyclical Light of the East. This lecture will explore some of the hidden aspects of the life of this blessed Eastern Catholic woman, discussing Byzantine celebrations of Christmas and Pascha in particular.
