Friday, Sept. 29, 2017. Montclair Art Museum, 3 S. Mountain Ave. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Docent guided tour along with free time to browse and enjoy the art. Please arrive 9:45 a.m. at the front entrance of the museum. $10 entrance fee. Charles E. Burchfield: Weather Event. <\/strong>See stormy skies, cool breezes, and sunbursts like never before in an exhibition celebrating the intersection of art and science. The Montclair Art Museum presents Charles E. Burchfield: Weather Event<\/em>, an exhibition of more than 40 of the renowned artist’s lyrical landscape watercolors and drawings that trigger the memories and moods inspired by weather and climate changes. His works invite the viewer to experience through the artist’s eyes the environments in Ohio and New York south of Lake Erie.<\/p>\n

Philomena Williamson: Metaphorical Narratives. <\/strong>The Montclair Art Museum presents the first museum retrospective of nationally renowned, Montclair-based contemporary artist Philemona Williamson. Primarily spotlighting her enigmatic and evocative paintings, the exhibition is accompanied by two site-specific installations illuminating the artist’s creative process.<\/p>\n

Special Collection not included in the $10 admission price: <\/strong>\u00a0Montclair Art Museum will present Matisse and American Art<\/strong><\/em>, the first exhibition to examine this French master\u2019s profound impact upon the development of American modern art from 1907 to the present. His art has provided a liberating model for American artists\u2019 varied explorations of vibrant color, strong, fluid lines, and clear compositional structures in their pursuits of self-expression<\/p>\n

Monday, October 16, 2017. Thomas Edison National Historical Park, 211 Main St., W. Orange. <\/strong>Private Ranger guided tour of more than an hour. Please arrive by 10:15 at the entrance of the site. The Museum will be closed to all but our group. The entrance fee has been waived.
