“Caribbean Archives and Digital Pedagogies: The Puerto Rico Syllabus, Bad Bunny and Vieques”

Nov. 11, 5:30 – 7:00pm, University Center Event Lounge

Join the Latin American and Latino/a Studies Program for “Caribbean Archives and Digital Pedagogies: The Puerto Rico Syllabus, Bad Bunny, and Vieques.” With a presentation by Isabel Guzzardo-Tamargo, Assistant Professor, Department of English, and Sarah Molinari, Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Integrative and Global Studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the event will showcase the Puerto Rico Syllabus, a digital humanities project and #publicsyllabus that demystifies Puerto Rico’s debt crisis.

As a living, digital document, the project has grown to include collaborations with various archives, such as the Bad Bunny Syllabus and the Vieques Historical Archive. This talk will showcase the “Apagón MicroSyllabus” and the “Vieques Microsyllabus,” including their open-access educational resources, inviting the audience to reflect on how Puerto Ricans articulate sovereignty, envision community-led futures and resist extractive forces such as austerity, displacement and extraction.

Open to all.
