Diaconal Formation and Leadership Today announces a new podcast series hosted by Deacon Andrew Saunders, Co-Director of the 4:12 Pathway for Pastoral Leadership initiative at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, Seton Hall University. The podcast series will cover leadership topics critical to the diaconate and successful diaconal ministry.

The first guest to be featured is Deacon Peter Cistaro, former director of the Permanent Diaconate in the Diocese of Paterson. Deacon Peter worked for most of his career at PSE&G in the areas of operational leadership, human resources, marketing, quality management and retired as vice president of gas delivery. He has held senior leadership positions in several industry groups and has served on the board of various public organizations including the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

In this first podcast Deacon Peter outlines the difference between management and leadership by emphasizing leaders lead people but manage things.  He will also discuss formal and informal leadership and begin to lay the foundation of good diaconal leadership to be explored in subsequent podcasts.
