{"id":4458,"date":"2021-09-10T20:28:13","date_gmt":"2021-09-11T00:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/archives\/?p=4458"},"modified":"2021-09-10T20:38:19","modified_gmt":"2021-09-11T00:38:19","slug":"we-remember-seton-hall-9-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/archives\/2021\/09\/we-remember-seton-hall-9-11\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cWe Remember\u201d Seton Hall &amp; 9-11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we reflect on the twentieth anniversary of the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001, the historical record is deep and reflects upon the many ranges of emotion for those who lived through that day and subsequent generations who are just now learning about its prevailing effects both past and present.\u00a0 When it comes to the legacy of 9-11 and learning more about the varied issues in published form that connect to this period, the educational benefit is considerable.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4461\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4461\" style=\"width: 407px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-4461\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/archives\/files\/2021\/09\/9-11v410-300x230.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"407\" height=\"312\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/archives\/files\/2021\/09\/9-11v410-300x230.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/archives\/files\/2021\/09\/9-11v410-1024x784.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/archives\/files\/2021\/09\/9-11v410-768x588.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/archives\/files\/2021\/09\/9-11v410-1536x1176.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/archives\/files\/2021\/09\/9-11v410-1200x918.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/archives\/files\/2021\/09\/9-11v410.jpg 2029w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 407px) 85vw, 407px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4461\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Front page of The Setonian, 13 September 2001<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Resources preserved inside the Monsignor William No\u00e9 Field Archives &amp; Special Collections Center, the resources found mainly reflect on the student, alumni, and administrative perspective.\u00a0 For example, within the pages of <em>The Setonian<\/em> published right after 9-11 there are several articles that explore not only the basics of the attack on the World Trade Center, but also on a local level in salute to both the victims and heroes who had connections to the school.\u00a0 Additional articles appeared in the <em>Seton Hall University Magazine<\/em> and other communiqu\u00e9s produced campus-wide during this time and in subsequent years to mark the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>Additional information can also be referenced within the many articles and books that have been penned about the subject found in our Rare Book and the University Libraries Main Collections.\u00a0 Special copies of the Thomas L. Friedman volume entitled: <em>Longitudes and Attitudes: Exploring the World After September 11<\/em>. (New York: Farrar, Strauss, and Giroux, 2002) and <em>Superpower Syndrome: America\u2019s Apocalyptic Confrontation With the World<\/em>. (New York: Thunder\u2019s Mouth Press\/Nation Books, 2003) are found in our Special Collections Center.\u00a0 Other volumes include a work by former Writer-In-Residence Anthony De Palma whose work\u201d <em>City of Dust: Illness, Arrogance, and 9\/1<\/em>1. (Upper Saddle River, NJ: FT Press, 2011) is included with many other titles found via our SetonCat bibliographical system.\u00a0 Various print materials under the Library of Congress subject heading: \u201cSeptember 11 Terrorist Attacks, 2001\u201d can be referenced via our homepage found within this site &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/library.shu.edu\/home\">https:\/\/library.shu.edu\/home<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When it comes to our Manuscript Collections, the Honorable Donald M. Payne Papers features a detailed file on September 11<sup>th<\/sup> from a U.S. Congressional standpoint.
