Group Mentoring – First March Session

I would like to share with you the important facts taken at last week’s Group Mentoring session, shown below. Our main topic of discussion were interviews and how to stand apart from the rest of the potential employees in the workplace.
 
Our next session will take place sometime in April. I thank all of my participants. Our leadership program is proud and honored to have successful men and women such as these to be a part of our team.
 
 

How to stand apart in the workplace

  • The importance of being yourself (authentic and genuine)
  • Qualities of a good employee or potential new employee
    • Passion for business
      • Interested in the existence of the corporation
  • Research on the company
    • Hard to recover from a mistake at a first interview
  • Constant education
    • As time goes on, things change. It is important to constantly keep educating yourself to keep up
  • Taking chances- Good Risk
  • Confident but not arrogant
  • Set yourself apart from the rest and look at the context of a situation
  • A good fit for the company
  • Conversational and good communicator
  • Come prepared with questions
  • When doing research before an interview:
    • Look at annual report for the numbers
    • Know all three aspects of the company: the industry, organization, and division
    • Read Chairman’s letter
    • Personal networks
