Three Minute Leadership- The Law of Awareness

To: The Great Leaders Who Have a Passion for Continuous Learning

In his book, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, John Maxwell shares his “Law of Awareness.” He writes: “You have to know who you are to grow to your potential. But you have to grow in order to know who you are.” It is about finding what you want to be and do in life. Whether it is the beginning of our journey or where we are now, finding our passion is our choice.

You will never fulfill your destiny doing work you despise.

Passion gives you an advantage over others, because one person with passion is great that ninety-nine who have only an interest!

Passion gives you energy.

Maxwell quotes Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung: ‘Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside dreams. Who looks inside awakens.” Relating to his own life’s journey, Maxwell says: “I was born for this.” You can hear the excitement, great joy and passion in his words. Great leaders’ voices echo them. They has envisioned their life, set goals to achieve their objectives and engaged others to support and encourage their journey. And for these great leaders who strive to be more than they ever dreamed they could be, Maxwell describes ‘what it will be like when you get to do what you’d like to do:”

“First, it will be different from what you imagined…. When you do what you want to do, it will be more difficulty than you ever imagined. I had no idea how much time it would take to be effective. I never expected to have such great demands put on my life or to have to keep paying the price to be successful. I also never dreamed that my energy level would go down as much as it has in recent years. Finally, let me tell you about this. When you do what you’ve always wanted to, it will be better than you ever imagined…. And I never dreamed it would be this much fun! Nothing else compares to doing what you were created to do.”

This is the awesome joy of living life to its fullest – to expend your energies in the magnificent pursuit of your life’s purpose and giving yourself in the service of others. Yes, “nothing else compares to doing what you were created [to be] and do.” I repeat John Maxwell’s words to his readers and make they my own: “I want to encourage you to seek what you were put on this earth to do. Then pursue it with all you effort.” Be more than they ever dreamed they could be, and more… so much more. Life is so very beautiful!

Have a beautiful day and a magnificent week!!!
