Leadership Junior MBA Program
We are proud to celebrate another great year of our Junior MBA Program. Since the Spring of 1994 the program has been a collaborative venture between the West Side High School-Business and Finance Institute of Newark, New Jersey and the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey. This year Orange High School, under the leadership of Eldridge Hawkins, Major of Orange, New Jersey, and Ronald Lee, Superintendent, Orange Public Schools, joined the Program. This new collaboration provided the students from each school new opportunities for growth and partnership in their learning experience. Ms. Jocelyn Easley, Orange High School, and Ms. Gail Sherman, West Side High School, are the Faculty Directors for their School. Their guidance, coaching and support contributed greatly to the students’ achievement.
This highly successful year was celebrated at the Junior MBA Graduation Dinner which was held on Wednesday, May 18, in the University’s Chancellor’s Suite. In attendance were Mayor Hawkins, Superintendent Lee, Jocelyn Easley, Gail Sherman, the Dean of the Stillman School of Business, Joyce Strawser, Mr. Fred Ganning, Junior MBA Program Director, and Professor Michael Reuter, Director, Center for Leadership Development. A large number of family and friends joined the students in recognizing their success.
The following students were recognized for their outstanding achievement:

In the address to the graduating students both Mayor Hawkins and Superintendent Lee applauded the students for the commitment to themselves in undertaking and successfully achieving the goal with which they challenged themselves. They also recognized the importance of the Junior MBA Program’s in developing leaders and providing the opportunity for the students to realize their possibilities, talents and skills. Ms. Easley and Ms. Sherman expressed their delight with the students’ achievement and emphasized their excitement for the coming years.
The highlight of the evening came after the certificate presentation when many of the parents stood up at their table or came to the program to express their heartfelt and emotional thanks to the Mayor, Superintendent, Dean and Faculty for the incredible opportunity provided to their children. They had pushed and challenged themselves, and found the greatness that is within them.
Please join me in applauding these outstanding students who role model the Junior MBA Program’s highest standards and values of academic and performance excellence.
The Junior MBA Program’s great success in the development of these young leaders is attributed in thankful appreciation to the Provident Foundation and the JC Amelior Foundation whose passionate commitment and caring for youth development have enabled the Program’s continued operation over the years. Their efforts have touched the lives of more than thirty students. For this and more we thank them for their continued, unwavering support to the Program and students.
