A Community Conversation: Modern Slavery-Global to Local

Seton Hall University School of Diplomacy and International Relations and the Slave-Free Community Project present a community conversation on the topic of Modern Slavery-Global to Local.

Please join us for a short survey of modern slavery on the global, national, and local levels, guided by the expertise of distinguished guests and field experts.

This event is coordinated in conjunction with the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking and the Slave Free Community Project. Located in the South Orange-Maplewood area, SFCP is a group of concerned community members striving to create the first communities in the nation to confidently say they are “slave free” by raising awareness and working to eliminate the effects of modern slavery from every aspect of daily life.

The 2:00 p.m. panel will start with a testimony of a Seton Hall alumna, Ingrid Johnson, who is a human trafficking activist after her daughter was a victim of trafficking. This testimony will be followed by short presentations from representatives of the issue at the local, state, national and international levels. After the presentations, we will have a discussion and question and answer period. We will close at 4:00 p.m.

Sunday, January 21st, 2:00-4:00 at the Main Lounge, University Center, Seton Hall University.

This event is free to public, but we kindly ask you RSVP here.
