Sustainable Development Goals Teach-In Materials

October 24 is United Nations Day. The Center for UN and Global Governance Studies, in cooperation with the United Nations Foundation, UNA-USA, and UNA-SHU, has chosen to celebrate this day by holding a Campus-Wide Teach-In on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The Teach-In had three parts. In the first part, Professor Martin Edwards gave a lecture providing an overview of the goals. In the second part, students had the opportunity to learn more about some of the specific goals by hearing presentations from faculty experts covering the goals on Education, Health, Gender, Water, Oceans, Land, and Peace and Justice.

In the final part of the Teach-In, Professor Edwards gave a lecture on how to write op-eds. Alyson Neel from the United Nations Foundation closed the event with advice on advocacy so that students can be better advocates for the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Seton Hall Library supported the Teach-In by creating this great resource guide.

Materials from the Teach-In appear below:

  • Edwards Powerpoint Presentation on Overview of SDGs
