Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, and Blackboard Collaborate
This session will explore communications tools currently available – Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, and Blackboard Collaborate:
Microsoft Teams provides a chat-centered collaborative workspace in Office 365, bringing people, conversations, files, and tools into one place so everyone has instant access to all of the team resources and discussions. The first third of this session will cover how Microsoft Teams can be utilized to facilitate collaboration and group projects.
Skype for Business is Microsoft’s messaging platform, capable of supporting real-time text based chat, video conferencing, and screen sharing. The second third of this session will cover how Skype for Business can be used for virtual office hours, bringing in external guest speakers, and more.
Blackboard Collaborate is a collaboration tool built into every Blackboard course! Faculty members can use Collaborate to create a virtual classroom or office to meet with students, present a PowerPoint presentation, display an application, and have multiple participants draw in real-time on a shared whiteboard.
