Microsoft Office Updates Causing Issues

Recently released Microsoft Office updates are causing freezing and crashing on machines running Microsoft Office 2013.

Instructions
If you are experiencing an issue with slowness or crashing in Microsoft Word or Excel, please follow the instructions below:

Microsoft Word – to remove the update:

  • Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search,
    OR
    If you’re using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.
  • Enter windows update, select Windows Update, select View update history and then select Installed Updates.
  • In the list of updates, select update KB3114717, and then select Uninstall.

Microsoft Excel – to remove the update:

  • Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search,
    OR
    If you’re using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.
  • Enter windows update, select Windows Update, select View update history and then select Installed Updates.
  • In the list of updates, select update KB3114734, and then select Uninstall

  2. I typed KB3114717 into the search bar and it looks like I do not have it installed. I am however having the issues that are described. If you can help me out it would be greatly appreciated
