MakerSpace Corner – August 2015
Over the summer the Instructional Design Newsletter introduced the MakerSpace Corner. It highlights the activities and goings on for the new Seton Hall MakerSpace located in the TLT Center CTC on the ground floor of Walsh Library. We will be supporting student and faculty projects and ideas in the areas of 3D printing, eTextiles, Digital Humanities Mobile App Development, Coding/Programming, Gaming, and Electronics. If there is an idea for a project you want to explore the MakerSpace is the place for you to get help brainstorming and getting started.
Each semester we will have different activities and programs to highlight the resources available to the Seton Hall community. Coming up in September we are offering:
- 3D Printing Workshops
This session will introduce you to the resources available, including the MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer and free 3D design software (Sketchup, AutoCAD). Participants will have an opportunity to submit their 3D files for printing.
September 9th, 3-4pm – Student Tech Bytes: 3D Printing
September 17th, 3-4pm – Faculty Tech Bytes: 3D Printing
- Student Involvement Fair, September 10th
We will be giving away 3D printed prizes and have maker activities for attendees to take part in.
- #SHUmake Challenge #1 – Name This Space
