Call for Student Submissions- TLTR – Student Technology Showcase

Student Technology Showcase

When and Where:
Wednesday, May 4, 2011
2-4 p.m.
Walsh Library, Beck Room
Light refreshments will be served

What students can submit:
Students are encouraged to submit projects using technology that were created for a course assignment.  Submissions will be judged on technical quality and educational merit.

Where and how to drop off submissions:
Please drop off your entries at TLT Center, Walsh Library, 1st floor.
You can drop off your projects on DVD, flash drive or provide a URL.

Timeline:
Deadline for submission is Wednesday, April 20th.
Winners will be contacted by April 28th.

Winners will be asked to present thier work and will receive an award certificate.

Submission Categories – ONE submission per category, please:
Creative Writing and Imagery – A complex topic or issue is often amplified when combined with thoughtful text and creative writing.  Often this results in a rich and dynamic statement that serves to form an emotional connection with the viewer.  What image or series of images do you have to share?

Multimedia Collaboration – PowerPoint is a tool often associated with multimedia presentations, everyone knows how to make one but are they any good? Today?s multimedia literacy ? text, audio, images and video can be used to communicate ideas both in a simple or complex style. There are plenty of tools available to make a great multimedia experience; the trick is to create inspiring presentations that serve to communicate the message to the viewer.  A well crafted multimedia presentation will result in a shared experience from which to make a decision.  Are you capable of making one?

ePortfolio –  A well designed ePortfolio, whether packaged online such as with LiveBinder or other online website creation tool, in Blackboard or Sophia, in PowerPoint, or using Adobe PDF Portfolio can be used to present an individual or an assignment in an enriching and creative style.  Are you ready to showcase your talents?

Digital Images – Digital images and imagery has been woven into the fabric of our society. Images can be powerful, memorable, concrete and emotional often causing the viewer to pause and reflect.  What digital image are you prepared to enter?
