Session IV & V – Michael Soupios

Michael Soupios, Associate Director for Digital Media at Seton Hall University’s Teaching, Learning and Technology Center, oversees a creative team of Digital Media Specialists. Their responsibilities include web, database and mobile app development as well as graphic design in traditional print and digital formats and all phases of video production.

Prior to his time at Seton Hall, Michael worked for six years at Columbia University’s Center for New Media, Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL) at the Medical Center campus. As an Educational Technologist he specialized in applying his background in the Health Sciences to projects with the Medical, Dental, Nursing and School of Public Health faculty.

Michael has a strong interest in Digital Badges, Game Theory, the effective use of Multimedia in Education, Project Management and Assessment. He has presented at conferences and workshops in the past on topics including Digital Badges, Gamification, Emerging Technologies, Large Scale Technology Deployments, Digital Storytelling, Mobile Applications, Emergency Preparedness and Technology, and the Assessment and Effective Use of Social Media. Before getting into multimedia and educational technology, Michael was working in the fields of Sports Medicine and Motor Learning. In an effort to hold onto that past, he still teaches Applied Anatomy and Biomechanics at Columbia University’s Teachers College.
