Stata is a standard analysis software in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, and other social sciences. It is a powerful tool, both for instruction in the classroom and for students\u2019 own research projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\"><strong>What is Stata?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\">The name Stata stands for a syllabic abbreviation of Statistics and Data.\u00a0 Stata is a statistical software package that provides tools for data management, statistical methods and data visualization, much like SPSS. It is a powerful tool to create publication-quality graphs and tables.<\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\"><strong>Why Stata?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\">Stata offers both pull-down menus and command syntax. Stata commands are very intuitive and easy to use and learn. Stata has a powerful reproducible documentation and version control systems. These systems ensure that researchers will have the same results every time they run the commands. Stata offers a wide number of learning resources including short video on how to use Stata.<\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\"><strong>How to request and install Stata?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\">To request a copy of Stata\/SE use the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tech.shu.edu\/selfservice\/kb_main.do?sysparm_kb=932c7bd6dbf6dc10be7e7722ba961978\" data-wahfont=\"16\">Software Request<\/a>\u00a0form from the IT Department.<\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\"><strong>For help with Stata:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\">Please contact SHU Libraries Data Services:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/library.shu.edu\/data-services\" data-wahfont=\"16\">https:\/\/library.shu.edu\/data-services<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\"><strong>Data Services Group<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\">University Libraries launched its Data Services Group in Fall 2019.\u00a0 Librarians and a Data Support Specialist are available to provide training in data management, specific tools like Stata, SPSS and R, Survey Research Methods for Qualtrics and Data Management for Seton Hall University students, faculty, staff, and administrators.\u00a0 For further information, please view the<a href=\"https:\/\/library.shu.edu\/data-services\" data-wahfont=\"16\">\u00a0Data Services website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-wahfont=\"16\">Interested in learning more?
