Hello, PR Superstars!
PRSSA’s last meeting discussed interesting topics like the history of social media, how to use social media as a tool for personalization and personal marketing.
From Seton Hall’s Strategic Communication graduate program, Professor Ruth Tsuria was the guest speaker of the night. She began the workshop-style lecture by making the attendees google themselves and see what some of the first things that pop up are. This exercise was used to demonstrate what a potential employer may see when researching you. She then proceeded to give a brief history of social media and gave some great tips for social media usage!
Some of Professor Tsuria’s tips are:
- Update your LinkedIn and social media accounts frequently
- Focus on images that represent you well
- If possible, add information about yourself and what you do
- Google yourself from time to time, see what comes up!
