Social Event

In order to foster informal discussions, collaborations, and friendships among participants outside of the strict structured environment of formal talks, it is an IFL tradition to schedule an extended social event. IFL 2009, following this tradition, has a coach tour and the symposium banquet scheduled on the afternoon and evening of September 24th, 2009.

The tour is expected, weather permitting, to take participants to the Big Apple (i.e. Manhattan) allowing participants to absorb some of the beautiful views the city has to offer from high above and from riverside. There will be some walking involved across one of Manhattan's famous bridges so wear comfortable shoes. Participants not wishing to walk across a bridge may remain on the bus.

After our exhilarating tour of Manhattan, we will be transported to the famous Ironbound neighborhood of Newark, NJ for the symposium's banquet. The banquet will be held at one of Ironbound's famous Spanish-Portuguese restaurants. The best advice we can offer is that everyone should come with a healthy appetite.
