Local Travel
Seton Hall University, one of the top Catholic universities in the USA, is located in the village of South Orange which dates back to 1666. South Orange is conveniently located about 30 minutes away from Manhattan (Penn Station) by train (NJ Transit train schedule). The closest international airport is Newark Liberty Airport (EWR is the airport code). AirTrain Newark provides inexpensive 24-hour service between Newark Airport and rail lines that run to Newark's and New York's Penn Station (printable brochures: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese).
The Robert Treat Hotel runs a shuttle 24 hours a day every 30 minutes to/from Newark airport. At Newark airport take the AirTrain to station P4 (map) where the shuttle picks up hotel guests (shuttle photo).
Arriving on Campus
IFL 2009 will provide shuttle service to and from the Robert Treat Hotel and the Seton Hall University Campus. The shuttle will pick-up participants in the morning before the day's talks begin and drop them off in the afternoon after the day's talk come to an end. The use of the shuttle is included in the conference fee. The precise shuttle schedule will be announced towards the end of August.

Train Directions: You will need to arrive at the South Orange train station and then take a taxi, walk to campus (15-20 minutes), or take Seton Hall's SHUFLY shuttle (see below).
Bus Directions
The SHUFLY shuttle provides transportation to/from the South Orange train station and the Seton Hall campus to individuals associated with Seton Hall and their guests. The use of the shuttle is included in the registration fee for IFL 2009. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes from 7:40 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and about every 30 minutes after 11:00 a.m.. Please note that there is no service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The SHUFLY schedule provides detailed running times.The shuttle stop nearest the South Orange train station is the station's parking lot near SOPAC (South Orange Performing Arts Center). The nearest stop on campus to the University Center (where IFL 2009 will take place) is Seton & Madison (in front of the Walsh Library). Please see SHUFLY photos for better orientation.
To use SHUFLY you must have a valid Seton Hall ID card and swipe it every time you ride the shuttle. ID cards will be included with the registration materials for IFL 2009. IFL 2009 participants will be able to use SHUFLY on the morning of September 23, 2009 by printing the IFL 2009 SHUFLY PASS and showing it to the shuttle driver.
Campus Orientation
All sessions, lunches, and coffee breaks will take place in the Bishop Dougherty University Center which is number 11 on the campus map (or number 12 on the printable campus map). Those driving to campus must get a parking permit for IFL 2009 from the guard at an entrance gate and park in the parking deck (P on the campus map or "Parking Deck" on the printable campus map).
