I am a current undergraduate student at Seton Hall University. I will be graduating in May 2019, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the School of Diplomacy & International Relations. I double-majored in Diplomacy and International Relations and Economics. I am also a student in the Honors Program at Seton Hall.
I chose to focus on the Middle East for my thesis requirement because I have always been interested in the region. When I was a student at Freehold Township High School, I participated in a unique program–the Contemporary Global Issues program. In fact, my senior capstone project focused on political street art around the globe, including the murals of Belfast, Banksy in England and Palestine, and Arab graffiti artists–some of which I examine on a deeper level for my undergraduate thesis. When I came to Seton Hall, I decided I wanted to explore the religion of Islam and the culture of the various types of Arab people and thus selected Arabic as my language of study.
I have also been interested in various forms of applied art since I was a child. I have a knack for painting — and even at one point considered a career in graphic design. I found that I was more suited to appreciate art, and have since found a particular interest in political art of various mediums. This interest, paired with my fascination of the Middle East, culminated in this digital humanities thesis project.
I am a pirate for life apparently! After graduation, I will be attending Seton Hall Law School in Newark, New Jersey. I will be a JD candidate in their Weekend Part-Time Program, studying law on the weekend while (hopefully) working a full-time job during the week. I am not entirely what law I want to specialize in, but I have a particular interest in criminal law, civil rights law, and immigration law.
