My Ph.D. (University of Virginia, 1998) is in German Languages and Literatures. I taught in these areas for about 12 years. While in graduate school, I became interested in instructional technology specific to language learning. After running a couple of Language Resource Centers, I moved into general instructional technology. I am currently\u00a0Director of Instruction and Research Technology at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #565555;font-family: 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #565555;font-family: 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif;font-size: small\">My connection to Digital Humanities is from work at my previous institution, Drew University. At Drew I was called on to be part of the Digital Humanities steering committee, which worked with faculty and administrators across campus to submit a successful Mellon grant application to found DH at Drew. This initiative, called Digital Drew, is an interdisciplinary effort to promote student digital literacy and skills through providing all students with their own domain. The project brings faculty, students, and librarians together to work on a variety of DH projects.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #565555;font-family: 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #565555;font-family: 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif;font-size: small\">Discussions about Digital Liberal Arts have begun at William Paterson University.
