My grandfather owned a three family house on the corner
Of 9th st. and 15th avenue. He also, owned his own business which was Sunrex Fuel Oil, which he made his
deliveries to homes. This took place around 1952, when I attended St.Ann’s Church, and St. Ann’s School. I received my Holy Communion, and Confirmation there. These
are my best childhood memories living in Newark.

I attended St. Ann Church and school,: I was an altar boy for three years and graduated in the Class of 1959. I have many wonderful memories of all the nuns and priests. I especially remember Father Heine, Father Bauer & Father Hess, Pastor.
I was especially surprised when I was awarded Patrol Boy Of The Year(Class of 1959).

St. Ann’s holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I received my First Holy Communion, Baptism, and Confirmation.
