My grandfather owned a three family house on the corner
Of 9th st. and 15th avenue. He also, owned his own business which was Sunrex Fuel Oil, which he made his
deliveries to homes. This took place around 1952, when I attended St.Ann’s Church, and St. Ann’s School. I received my Holy Communion, and Confirmation there. These
are my best childhood memories living in Newark.
Saint Ann’s Grammar School Were The Best Years of my Life.. A Great School! Wonderful Nuns&Priests!
The Church inside is So Beautiful! Had So much Fun at lunchtime Playing outside in the Playgound Jumping Rope w/My Good Friends that I Never Firgot
Wish I Could Go Back in Time 1955-Kindergarten – 1964 8th Gr, but Since That’s Not Possible, My Memories have Never Faded… .
Thank You Saint Ann’s For The Blessed Years
The Nuns And Priests Were Very Kind, and Gave Their Students The Best Education….
I Thank Them For That… .
God Bless Saint Ann’s
I attended St. Ann Church and school,: I was an altar boy for three years and graduated in the Class of 1959. I have many wonderful memories of all the nuns and priests. I especially remember Father Heine, Father Bauer & Father Hess, Pastor.
I was especially surprised when I was awarded Patrol Boy Of The Year(Class of 1959).
I received my Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Married there in 1964. My family lived on 6th street from 1945 to 1960.
St. Ann’s holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I received my First Holy Communion, Baptism, and Confirmation.
