Welcome to the SHU Language Portfolio Pilot.

Timeline:

On April 13, 2012, several faculty from the Languages, Literatures and Cultures department met with staff from the Language Resource Center to draft a proposal for a language portfolio pilot project.  The proposed guidelines can be found here.

On April 27th, 2012, during the Languages, Literatures and Cultures departmental meeting, the proposal was presented to the department.  The faculty present voted to adopt the proposed language portfolio pilot.

August: LRC and the Languages, Literatures and Cultures websites were updated.  Handouts and printed material updated.

August 23, 2012: Faculty workshop was held at 11:00 a.m. to update the portfolio project.

September 6, 2012: Mandatory meeting for all language majors  .  Excerpts from the presentation can be found here: Portfolio Introduction_September 7 2012.

Friday, September 28, 2012  1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Fahy Hall 202 Language Portfolios: Getting Started Open Lab.  Drop by between 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. for step-by-step help with filling in your language biography and creating your portfolio.

 Friday, February 15, 2013  11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Fahy Hall 202 Study abroad for language learners.  Get the most out of your study abroad experiences by using these guidelines when selecting a study abroad program, when overseas and when you return.
