Thursday, November 10th Flag Football Roundup

The turf of Owen T. Carroll Field played host to the B-League Quarter Finals and A-League Semi’s Thursday Night. And some of the results left Mr. Hall ripping up his bracket and looking forward College Basketball Season. The games started at 6 pm and soon after the upset bug started biting….

6:00 PM… Vick in a Box vs. #HMD

  • A popular pick in Mr. Hall’s bracket pool, Vick in a Box seemed poised to make a run towards B-League glory. They, like Vick and the Eagles this season, failed to live up to expectations as they ran into the buzz saw that has become #HMD. In a game that would make Marshawn Lynch proud #HMD came out with an Easy 42-19 victory that leaves Vick in the Box wondering what could have been.

6:00 PM… D-League Stars vs. The U

  • Another team that seemed to be destined for the finals was The U. They were playing like The U of the 80’s throughout the regular season, but when it came to their matchup with the D-League stars, The U was wishing they had some support from Nevin Sahpiro. QB Chris Carl and his flashy play calling led D-League stars to a nail-biting 40-39 victory.  BLACK 18!!!!!!!!

7:00 PM… Taste Dewayne Bowe vs. Show Me TD’s

  • Continuing on the trend of teams failing to live up to expectations and destroying Mr. Hall’s bracket, Show Me TD’s seems to have forgotten to Show Up for their game with Taste Dewayne Bowe. Taste Dewayne Bowe behind stellar defense from Kwaku “Island” Opoku sailed into the semi’s with a 46-24 victory.

7:00 PM… Omega Fly vs. Penthouse

  • Omega Fly advanced to the C-League Championship as Penthouse failed to show up and forfeited out.

8:00 PM… Alpha Sig vs. Jesse and the Rippers

  • Alpha Sig and Jesse and the Rippers met in a curious semi-final battle. Jessie and the Rippers went undefeated in the regular season but didn’t seem to play tough competition so Mr. Hall wondered what they would do in the playoffs against a pesky Alpha Sig team. Well the Steel Curtain O-Line of Jessie and the Rippers anchored by Nick “The Beard” Cooley, Andrew “Philly Buriser” Kornberg and stud tackle John “Mr. Setonian” Lopiano held strong and proved too impenetrable for Alpha Sig as Jessie and the Rippers pulled out a close one 26-20.

8:00 PM…Ron Mexico vs. Stafford Infection

  • It was a tough night for Michael Vick Alias’ out on the turf as Ron Mexico followed in the footsteps of Vick in a Box and faced defeat against Stafford Infection. Joe “Pump Fake” Farco led Stafford Infection to a 42-32 victory over their arch-rival in a closer than anticipated game setting up the much anticipated A-League Championship rematch with 2 time defending champion What Homework?

Mr. Hall would like to thank you for taking the time out of your facebooking, er… I mean class period… to read our blog. Be sure to come out Thursday night as the final tickets are punched to the championship games.

Good Night and Good Luck…
