{"id":576,"date":"2023-09-05T07:30:46","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T11:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/ihsl\/?p=576"},"modified":"2023-08-21T15:26:57","modified_gmt":"2023-08-21T19:26:57","slug":"a-new-clinicaltrials-gov-interface","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/ihsl\/2023\/09\/05\/a-new-clinicaltrials-gov-interface\/","title":{"rendered":"A New ClinicalTrials.gov Interface!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/\"> National Library of Medicine<\/a> has officially launched newly designed and modernized version of <a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/\">ClinicalTrial.gov<\/a>.\u00a0 The new design is visually more appealing for the user to find and retrieve relevant trial information for their research.\u00a0 Some of the new updates include as left-side menus and expandable menus, that improve navigation and make information more discoverable. Ultimately, its a nice and cleaner look that&#8217;ll make finding trial information more streamlined.<\/p>\n<p>The Focus Your Search menu on the left side of your screen allows you to input your clinical topics by category. You can search by <b>Condition or disease<\/b>, <b>Other Terms<\/b>, <b>Intervention\/Treatment<\/b> and <b>Location\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/pubs\/techbull\/mj23\/graphics\/ctg_fig1.PNG\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"figure\" style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Figure 1: Homepage showing new &#8220;Search&#8221; features.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The homepage includes an additional &#8220;<strong>More Filters&#8221;<\/strong> section that expands upon clicking the plus sign (+). This can also be found in the search results page.\u00a0 This gives the user more options in terms of expanding and limiting their search. \u00a0Users can find studies based on their current location, a city, state, country, or a specific address using the &#8220;Location&#8221; field with the newly integrated map.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/pubs\/techbull\/mj23\/graphics\/ctg_fig2.PNG\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"figure\" style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Figure 2: Search showing the &#8220;More Filters&#8221; section.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>On the search results page, users can choose either the card view or the table view to display the list of clinical studies. The card view displays information such as study type and recruitment status, study locations. The table view allows users to organize and compare studies by showing, hiding, or reordering columns. Technical table views for data researchers\u00a0 are now available to meet needs of date related research.
