About us

Global Health Governance is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal that provides a platform for academics and practitioners to explore global health issues and their implications for governance and security at national and international levels.

The journal provides interdisciplinary analyses and a vigorous exchange of perspectives that are essential to the understanding of the nature of global health challenges and the strategies aimed at their solution. The Journal is particularly interested in addressing the political, economic, social, military and strategic aspects of global health issues.

Demographic and epidemiological transitions and their implications on peace and stabilitY

Politics of public health and health care

Interplay between health and development

Peer review and open access policies

Each manuscript submitted to the Journal will be screened by the editors for relevance to the journal’s objectives before being subject to an external review. Except for articles under the “Invited Articles” section, the review process will be double-blind (the reviewers and authors will not know who each other are). The review process will generally take up to six to eight weeks from the date of submission.

Global Health Governance is an academic journal available free of charge to individuals and institutions. Because the purpose of this publication is the widest possible dissemination of knowledge, copies of this journal and the articles contained herein may be printed or downloaded and redistributed for personal, research or educational purposes free of charge and without permission. Any commercial use of Global Health Governance or the articles published herein is expressly prohibited without the written consent of the copyright holder. Founding Editor, Yanzhong Huang

Dr. Yanzhong Huang is a Professor in the School of Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University and directs the School’s Center for Global Health Studies, which examines global health issues from a foreign policy and security perspective. He is also a Senior Fellow for Global Health at the Council on Foreign Relations and the founding editor of Global Health Governance: The Scholarly Journal for the New Health Security Paradigm.

He has written extensively on global health governance, health diplomacy, health security, public health in China and East Asia. He has published numerous reports, journal articles, and book chapters, including articles in Survival, Foreign Affairs, Bioterrorism and Biosecurity, and Journal of Contemporary China, as well as op-ed pieces appearing in New York Times, International Herald Tribune, The Diplomat, and CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS, among others.
