Proposals should focus in one or more of the following three areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Language Description<\/strong> &#8211; Documenting the language through audio, video, transcriptions, text samples and databases<\/li>\n<li><strong>Infrastructure<\/strong> &#8211; Digitizing and preserving access to documentary materials or creating new infrastructure such as conferences and workshops<\/li>\n<li><strong>Computational Methods<\/strong> &#8211; Developing standards and databases to make documenting languages easier or developing computational tools for endangered languages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The program offers one to three year grants (ranging from $12,000-$150,000 per year) or six to twelve month fellowships at $4,200 per month. Proposals are due annually on September 15.
