The American Psychological Association (APA) and American Psychological Foundation (APF) are pleased to announce that applications for the Pearson Early Career Grant are being accepted.<\/p>\n
BACKGROUND: THE PEARSON EARLY CAREER GRANT PROGRAM
\nThe American Psychological Foundation (APF) and American Psychological Association (APA) will award The Pearson Early Career Grant to eligible, early career clinicians to work in an area of critical societal need. Pearson partner with APF to ensure psychology addresses critical needs in society.<\/p>\n
The program’s goals are to support psychology’s efforts to improve areas of critical need in society, including but not limited to innovative scientifically based clinical work with serious mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, incarcerated or homeless individuals, children with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and adults with serious mental illness (SIM); and to encourage early career psychologists to devote their careers to under-served populations.<\/p>\n
AWARD AMOUNT
\n$13,500 USD.
\nOne $12,000 annual grant is available, plus an additional $1,500 for travel costs for the recipient to attend the following year’s American Psychological Association (APA) Convention.
\nFor grants and scholarships that are $10,000 or more, APF will make the award to your institution. APF does not allow institutional indirect costs or overhead costs. Applicants may use grant monies for direct administrative costs of their proposed project.<\/p>\n

\nApplicants are to submit a completed application online by December 31, 2016.<\/p>\n

\nBe a psychologist with an EdD, PsyD, or PhD from an accredited university
\nBe no more than 10 years postdoctoral<\/p>\n
