{"id":2065,"date":"2016-04-07T14:18:59","date_gmt":"2016-04-07T18:18:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/fundingopportunities\/?p=2065"},"modified":"2016-04-07T14:18:59","modified_gmt":"2016-04-07T18:18:59","slug":"innovative-technology-experiences-for-students-and-teachers-itest-call-for-research-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/fundingopportunities\/2016\/04\/07\/innovative-technology-experiences-for-students-and-teachers-itest-call-for-research-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) Call for Research Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Pre-K Strategists, Students and Scholars:<\/p>\n<p>The National Science Foundation (NSF) along with the Directorate for Education &amp; Human Resources Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Settings is pleased to announce their program solicitation for full proposals to Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST).<\/p>\n<p>ITEST is a program that promotes PreK-12 student interests and capacities to participate in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and information and communications technology (ICT) workforce of the future. \u00a0To achieve this objective, ITEST supports the development, implementation, and selective spread of innovative strategies for engaging students in experiences that: \u00a0(1) increase student awareness of STEM and ICT careers; (2) motivate students to pursue the education necessary to participate in those careers; and\/or (3) provide students with technology-rich experiences that develop their knowledge of related content and skills (including critical thinking skills) needed for entering the STEM workforce. \u00a0ITEST projects may adopt an interdisciplinary focus on multiple STEM domains, focus on a single domain, or focus on one or more sub-disciplines within a domain. \u00a0ITEST projects must involve students, and may also include teachers. \u00a0The ITEST program is especially interested in broadening participation of students from traditionally underrepresented groups in STEM fields and related education and workforce domains. \u00a0Projects that actively engage business and industry partners to better insure that PreK-12 experiences foster the knowledge and skill-sets needed for emerging STEM-related occupations are strongly encouraged.<\/p>\n<p>ITEST supports two project types: \u00a0Strategies projects and SPrEAD (Successful Project Expansion and Dissemination) projects. \u00a0Strategies projects support the design, implementation, and testing of innovative educational experiences that support the objectives of the ITEST program. \u00a0SPrEaD projects support the wider and broader testing and dissemination of promising strategies to generate evidence and greater understanding of contextual factors that operate to enhance, moderate, or constrain anticipated project impacts. \u00a0The ITEST program also invites proposals for an ITEST Resource Center to provide technical assistance to projects and provide assistance with the outreach activities of the ITEST program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Due Date: \u00a0<\/strong>August 10, 2016<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility: \u00a0<\/strong>Universities and Colleges, Non-profit, Non-academic organizations, For-profit organizations, State and Local Governments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award Amount: \u00a0<\/strong>Strategies projects: \u00a0Up to $1.2M over up to 3 years; SPrEaD projects: \u00a0Up to $2M over 3-5 years; Resource Center: \u00a0Up to $3.5M over 3 years<\/p>\n<p><strong>Number of Awards:<\/strong> \u00a020-30 total: \u00a0Approx. 15-20 Strategies awards; 5-10 SPrEaD awards; 1 Resource Center award<\/p>\n<p><strong>Previously Funded ACCU Members:<\/strong> \u00a0Fordham University, Boston College, DePaul University<\/p>\n<p>General inquiries regarding this program should be made to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Address questions to, telephone: \u00a0(703) 292-8628, email: \u00a0DRLITEST@nsf.gov<\/li>\n<li>Julia V.
