{"id":2059,"date":"2016-04-05T14:45:05","date_gmt":"2016-04-05T18:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/fundingopportunities\/?p=2059"},"modified":"2016-04-05T14:45:05","modified_gmt":"2016-04-05T18:45:05","slug":"the-national-endowment-for-the-arts-our-town-grant-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/fundingopportunities\/2016\/04\/05\/the-national-endowment-for-the-arts-our-town-grant-program\/","title":{"rendered":"The National Endowment for the Arts Our Town Grant Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Artists, Design Professionals, and Arts Organizers:<\/p>\n<p>The National Endowment for the Arts is pleased to announce the Our Town grant program for creative peacemaking. \u00a0Through Our Towns projects, the NEA intends to achieve the following objective:\u00a0<em>Livability: American communities are strengthened through the arts. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Grants will be awarded for creative place-making projects that contribute toward the livability of communities and help transform them into lively, beautiful, and sustainable places with the arts at their core. \u00a0Our Town prioritizes partnerships between the arts organizations and government, private, and nonprofit organizations to achieve livability goals for communities as they strengthen through the arts.<\/p>\n<p>Projects should represent the distinct character and quality of their communities, and must reflect the following:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">&#8211; A vision for enhancing the livability of the community.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\"> &#8211; A systemic approach to equitable civic development.<br \/>\n&#8211; Support for artists, design professionals, and arts organizations by integrating the arts and design into the fabric of civic life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Due Date: \u00a0<\/strong>Expected September 2016<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility: \u00a0<\/strong>Arts and design organizations that provide services to the field, national and regional place-based industry organizations that provide technical assistance to the doing place-based work. \u00a0This may include housing, transit, community development, environmental, and economic development organizations who wish to engage in creative peacemaking activities. \u00a0Must have at least two primary partners: \u00a01) \u00a0nonprofit organization, and 2) \u00a0local government entity, as defined by the guidelines. \u00a0One of these two primary partners must be a cultural (arts or design) organization. \u00a0Must have a three-year history of programming prior to the application deadline.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award Amount: \u00a0<\/strong>The applicant must request a grant amount at one of the following levels: \u00a0$25,000, $50,000, $75,000, $100,00, $150,000, or $200,000. \u00a0NEA will award very few grants at the $200,000 level;
