Recent\u00a0transformative\u00a0breakthroughs\u00a0in detector technology have radically advanced the throughput and resolution of three dimensional\u00a0cry-electron microscopy (3D cryoEM).\u00a0\u00a0Applications for the National Institutes\u00a0of\u00a0Health’s Collaborative Supplements for Cry-Electron\u00a0Microscopy Technology Transfer (Admin Supp)\u00a0grants program in technical\u00a0projects\u00a0are being accepted\u00a0on a rolling basis. Grants are awarded for high-quality and purposeful research.<\/p>\n
Application Types Allowed:<\/strong><\/p>\n Non-competing Administrative Supplements.<\/p>\n Award Budget:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Application budgets\u00a0are limited to a maximum of $100K\/year in direct costs or the amount of the current parent award,\u00a0whoever is less, and must reflect the actual needs of the proposed\u00a0project.<\/p>\n The funding mechanism being used to support this program, administrative supplements, can be used to cover cost increases that are associated with achieving certain new research objectives, as long as the research objectives are within the original scope of the peer reviewed and approved project, or the cost\u00a0increases are for\u00a0unanticipated expenses within the original scope of the project. \u00a0Any cost increases need to result from making modifications to the project that would increase or preserve the overall\u00a0or the project consistent with its originally approved objectives and purposes.\u00a0 NIGMS intends to commit $2M in FY 2016 to fund 13 awards.<\/p>\n Eligible Applicants:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Private institutions, Special district governments,\u00a0Independent\u00a0school districts,\u00a0Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education, City or township governments, Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments), Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education, County Governments, State Governments, For profit organizations other than small businesses, Others (see text field entitled “Additional\u00a0Information on Eligibility” for clarification), Public and State controlled institutions of higher education, Small businesses. \u00a0Visit the foundation’s website for more details.
