The DSD Fellowship funds research that addresses drugs and at least one other security and democracy theme in Latin America and the Caribbean. Such themes include, but are not limited to:
- Political economy
- The role of elites
- Anti-democratic strategies used by communities or states
- Legal frameworks and analyses
- Impact on vulnerable groups
Fellowships run between 3 and 12 months and support both dissertation and postdoctoral researchers. Exact monetary amounts are determined by each specific research proposal.
