Dear Fellow Researchers and Scholars,

Recent transformative breakthroughs in detector technology have radically advanced the throughput and resolution of three dimensional cry-electron microscopy (3D cryoEM).  Applications for the National Institutes of Health’s Collaborative Supplements for Cry-Electron Microscopy Technology Transfer (Admin Supp) grants program in technical projects are being accepted on a rolling basis. Grants are awarded for high-quality and purposeful research.

Application Types Allowed:

Non-competing Administrative Supplements.

Award Budget:

Application budgets are limited to a maximum of $100K/year in direct costs or the amount of the current parent award, whoever is less, and must reflect the actual needs of the proposed project.

The funding mechanism being used to support this program, administrative supplements, can be used to cover cost increases that are associated with achieving certain new research objectives, as long as the research objectives are within the original scope of the peer reviewed and approved project, or the cost increases are for unanticipated expenses within the original scope of the project.  Any cost increases need to result from making modifications to the project that would increase or preserve the overall or the project consistent with its originally approved objectives and purposes.  NIGMS intends to commit $2M in FY 2016 to fund 13 awards.
