The FY13 PH/TBI Research Program TBI Endpoints Development (TED) Award mechanism supports the establishment of a collaborative, multidisciplinary research team to advance endpoints for use in trials involving diagnosis and treatment of mild to moderate TBI (mTBI to modTBI). While a number of potentially useful endpoints for mTBI to modTBI diagnostics and therapeutics exist, a majority of them have not been validated and qualified for use as a reference measure of diagnostic or therapeutic effectiveness.

The TED research team will address a critical need within the TBI research community by developing clinically relevant endpoints that can support regulatory approvals and be applicable for use in research tests and clinical trials.

Funding: maximum allowable total (direct and indirect) costs for the entire period of performance are $17 million (M) (for Stage I, Stage II, and seed projects).
