The National Institute of Standards and Technology offers a base stipend of $65,000 for research fellows to work on problems that arise in modeling communication systems. Particular emphasis is placed on high-order convergent and reduced computational complexity techniques for numerical solution of integral equations and partial differential equations, including quadrature methods, fast multipole methods, and wavelet methods.
