The American Lung Association (ALA) is offering junior investigators $40,000 a year over two years for research on the mechanisms of lung disease and general lung biology. The ALA is particularly interested in proposals that can: 1) eliminate tobacco use and tobacco related lung diseases, 2) improve air quality so it won’t cause or worsen lung disease and 3) reduce the burden of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung cancer on patients and their families.
