The National Science Foundation (NSF) is offering between $150,000-$500,000 annually for up to three years to support the work of Focused Research Groups (FRGs) in the mathematical sciences. Successful proposals must explain why their work requires three or more researchers and how it will contribute to (among other things):

  • Advancing knowledge in a field of mathematical scientific importance
  • Identifying new research directions, especially for the application of mathematics and statistics to engineering and science
  • Creating innovative methods of collaboration
  • Developing new ways of training, either in emerging areas or novel methods (such as interdisciplinary or team based research)

Proposals are due September 21, 2012 and every third Friday in September annually thereafter. For more information, see the link below:
