The National Science Foundation’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Program (STEP) is offering awards to institutions that increase the number of students receiving degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related fields.
Type 1 proposals can last up to five years and the amount of money provided depends on the size of the institution’s student body, ranging from $500,000 to $2.5 million. These proposals fund specific practices that will increase the number of U.S. students receiving associate or bachelor’s degrees in STEM fields. Increases in one STEM field must not lead to a decrease in another STEM field. Type 2 proposals provide up to $1.5 million for a 1-4 year period. These proposals conduct research into factors affecting the attainment of associate and bachelor’s degrees in STEM fields.
The deadline for full proposals in September 25, 2012 and will be offered at a similar time next year. For more details, see the link below:
