The United States Government represented by the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, Office of Western Hemisphere Programs, (INL/WHP) directs and oversees foreign assistance programs pertaining to rule of law, law enforcement, and justice sector development in Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama). In these countries, INL is building the capacity of law enforcement, corrections and justice sector personnel through training, technical assistance, and mentoring, among other activities. As part of a regional platform, INL supports the travel of partner-nation personnel to attend trainings in other countries, furthering sharing of best practices. In support of this capacity-building work, and to accelerate implementation of training through travel, INL seeks to award a cooperative grant award for capacity-building training that includes a travel element.
