This means short blurbs about anything anyone feels like posting. Posts on twitter are called &#8220;tweets.&#8221; Twitter can be used to personally connect with friends, professionally connect with educators, or for businesses. Hashtags are used to categorize certain posts. For example, a teacher might use twitter to post some tips for other teachers. Example:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>@iamateacher positive encouragement works great with students! #education<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Personal use of twitter can be used to stay up to date with friends, family, or others. Example:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>@janedoe my tulips finally bloomed! #yay #gardening<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hashtags are optional, but allow you to connect &amp; be seen by others(millions of others) using the same hashtag. You can also &#8220;retweet&#8221; which shares tweets(posts) you find interesting. A &#8220;retweet&#8221; will show up on your profile. A like does NOT show up on your profile. You can also follow other people&#8217;s accounts to continually see what they tweet(post).<\/p>\n<p>Create your own account today! Here&#8217;s how:<\/p>\n<p>Step 1:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to twitter.com<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-179 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/digitalcitizenry\/files\/2020\/05\/step1-300x139.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"120\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;sign up&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Step 2:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create your account using your information<\/li>\n<li>After inputting your information, twitter will ask:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-180 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/digitalcitizenry\/files\/2020\/05\/step2-300x256.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"243\" height=\"207\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Check means yes, unchecked means no<\/li>\n<li>Up to personal preferences &amp; these can always be changed later<\/li>\n<li>To verify, twitter will send you a message via phone number or email<\/li>\n<li>Lastly, create a password<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Step 3:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Choose a profile picture or skip for now. This can be changed later.
