Ethnopoetics.org: A Talk and Demo by Prof. Ken Sherwood

Dec. 2, 10:00am – 11:00am

In Teams

In this workshop, co-sponsored by the Digital Humanities Faculty Learning Community and the Diversity Coalition, Kenneth Sherwood, Professor of English and co-director of the Center for Digital Humanities and Culture at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, will give a demo of Ethnopoetics.org, a collaborative wiki that shares informative, scholarly materials related to ethnopoetics. (Ethnopoetics is the term used “to designate writing that reflects a heightened awareness of the artfulness of oral and traditional poetries and the ways in which diverse verbal arts illuminate world cultures.” <http://sherwoodweb.org/projects.html>). Prof. Sherwood will also lead attendees through some basic hands-on wiki creation and editing techniques.
