It gives us great joy to invite you to the 10th Anniversary celebration of the Center for Diaconal Formation. We had planned a festive dinner at Seton Hall, just before the coronavirus hit. Undeterred, we decided to move our celebration online! Please join us on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. There is no charge for this event.

Together, we will look with gratitude at all that the Lord has done over the past 10 years, including the formation of 110 men who have been ordained for the Archdiocese of Newark and the Dioceses of Metuchen, Paterson and Trenton and the 55 men currently in formation. We will hear inspiring words from deacons, wives of deacons, deacons in formation, priests, professors, seminarians and others in a virtual celebration that will include music, preaching, prayer and witness. The uplifting event will last approximately 40 minutes and will feature live as well as pre-recorded portions.

A highlight of the evening will be the testimony of retired NBA referee Deacon Steve Javie, a 25-year veteran of the league who officiated games among such high profile players as Dr. J, Larry Byrd, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Lebron James and the late Kobe Bryant. You will find his remarks inspiring.
