I visited Pudong Library in Shanghai in June and July 2017. I made a presentation on the topic of “Improve Reader Service through Digital Humanities: Distant Reading via Text Mining Tools” at the seminar on “Library and Social Development, New Setting, New Ideas and New Services” Jointly Organized by Pudong Library, Shanghai, and the CALA 21st Century Librarian Seminar Series, June 13, 2017. I was one of the four speakers selected from Chinese American Librarian Association (CALA). I listened to Pudong librarians’ talk on their digital projects and visited library’s new media experiencing room. I also witnessed the establishment of the sister relationship between Pudong Library and San Francisco Public Library.
