In the film,\u00a0<\/span>Men in Black III<\/em><\/span>, the character K asks the question: \u201cWhat is the most powerful force in the universe?\u201d His response to his question is riveting and thought-provoking: it\u00a0is\u00a0<\/span>regret<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 Regret is powerful because it is a wise teacher, one which gives us great learning – from the things that we did and those that we didn\u2019t do\u2026 from what we experienced\u00a0or what could have been – the unfulfilled accomplishments of goals, pursuit\u00a0happiness, of dreams that complete and fulfill our life’s purpose.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The greatest regrets are not from things done, but from words left unsaid, deeds undone and dreams not realized.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Sydney Smith, English clergyman and essayist, writes:\u00a0\u201cRegret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.\u201d\u00a0 Alexander Graham Bell, American inventor, stated:\u00a0 \u201cWhen one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.\u201d Jonathan Safran Foer, American author, wrote:\u00a0 \u201cThe mistakes I’ve made are dead to me. But I can’t take back the things I never did.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
